system registry. In time, you will need to delete some of these devices that are no longer used. When it comes to printer, you need to delete your printer if you want to add a new IP address or you are going to use another printer. Here are some of the steps that you can use in deleting your old printer from your network connections:

There is specific command prompt that you can use depending on your operating system or OS. Here is an example if you are using a computer with Windows XP. Windows XP does not show devices that are no longer connected in the computer. There are some “ghost” devices that are still registered even though they are no longer being used. To remove these devices, you can do these steps:

  1. Click Start, select Run then type .cmd then Enter.
  2. Type the following command from the prompt window and then click Enter:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

  1. Type this command to the same command prompt the click Enter.

start devmgmt.msc

The device manager will then start then shows all unconnected and old devices that are registered in your computer. You will be amazed on the number of devices that you are no longer using. These devices may create incompatibilities when you install new devices in your computer. You can now remove or delete the printer devices from the network.

After removing the old printer, you can now install you new printer device. When installed, you can now use your printer ink cartridges to print your favorite photos and files. Your printer inkjet cartridges will last longer depending on your printer inkjet cartridges. When they are empty, you can buy the compatible printer cartridgesto different online stores.

HP Officejet Printer Cartridges vs. Compatible Cartridges

A compatible cartridge refers to an ink cartridge that is not manufactured by the original manufacturer of your printer, or an OEM cartridge. However, compatible cartridges will function and work in the same way that an original (OEM) cartridge would. Many printer manufacturers rolled out that using any compatible cartridge in your printer will void the warranty. On the contrary, compatible cartridges are popular with consumers because of the lower cost to purchase, compared to an OEM cartridge.

Helping the Environment for Empty Printer Cartridges

Who said that empty printer cartridges are in no use just like any other to be thrown-away materials?

Every year, many consumers around the world are disposing their empty printer cartridges without them realizing that these empty printer cartridges could still be in great use. For one, consumers could save and at the same time earn money out of the empty printer cartridges; second, they could get a good quality of printer ink cartridges when remanufactured; and lastly, which is considerably the most important is that they could help the environment. Use and reuse! That’s the secret.

Buying back of empty ink cartridges is becoming a global trend with consumers, printer producers and distributors as their concerns for saving the environment has changed positively.  This is a great way to encourage fundraising activities while making a little extra change. Hewlett Packard has a good money return and that allows the company to have a stable market for buyback programs. HP ink cartridges series are easily refilled and sold again dropping the environmental cost and are 25% cheaper the original.

Buying back empty printer cartridges programs offered by companies will take in consumer returns and pay them back. This is to promote preservation of the environment and to help build consumer-supplier relations. Some company in fact sends out recycling bags to collectors for sending in the used cartridges at no cost at all. Buying back empty printer cartridges will undeniably take off in the next few years.

You personally can have your own empty printer ink cartridges buyback program and able to conduct fundraising activities. First, you may find a sponsor who is much willing to be your partner in your quest in saving your money and the environment. You may make a deal with a local supplier or computer distributor near you city. Another is socializing with the neighborhood, schools and office buildings and make a deal with them in buying their empty ink cartridges. At first it may be difficult but in the long run, you will be surprised on how many people will take part of your program when goals are thoroughly presented to your prospects.

Again as mentioned, buyback programs has been a global trend. Just like in the United Kingdom, there are charity organizations that are accepting used ink cartridges and recycle them to raise funds. Tesco, for example recycles empty printer cartridges through Freepost and donates a pound to the Marie Curie foundation. Also, Tesco may give 100 points on Tesco Clubcard and can give cash directly to a charity of your choice via Gift Aid which would make it a lot more valuable.

We can definitely participate in helping the environment especially nowadays that the earth in experiencing severe damage in the environment. Saving Mother-Earth and your penny!
